Major Changes at Algorithme Pharma: Expansion of the Laval Laboratory and Purchase of State-of-the-art Equipment

(Montreal, January 16, 2006) Algorithme Pharma’s president and CEO, Mr. Louis Caillé, is proud to announce two major changes that will enable the company to conduct more clinical studies each year as well as broaden the types of studies it can undertake.

“Over the last five years, Algorithme Pharma has had a tremendous growth, placing us at the top of Quebec market with regards to basic and clinical studies. The changes we announce today will enable us to develop new markets”, explains Mr. Caillé.

Expansion of the Laval laboratory

Once the expansion is completed, the square footage of Laval laboratory located at the head office of the company (575 Armand-Frappier Blvd,), will have doubled to 56,000 square feet. In this added space, many more professionals will be able to join the specialists already employed by the company. This expansion will make it possible for us to conduct twice more clinical studies and specimen analyses monthly.

Purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment

The company also purchased two API 5000 biosystems. Known as the most sensitive and accurate in its field, this system detects even the smallest concentrations of medication. Algorithme Pharma will therefore be in a position to analyse a wider range of pharmaceutical products and to conduct various types of clinical studies.
