The Process

How can I participate in a clinical trial?

Step 1:

Call  (514) 381-ALGO or (514) 381-2546

Step 2: Medical Exam

The purpose of Algorithme Pharma's Screening Center is to verify your health status and to make sure that this study is suitable for you according to your medical condition. A doctor will look at your weight, height, bone structure, urine test, blood test, electrocardiogram and drug test results.

At that point you will also receive detailed information on the nature of the study, the side-effects, the procedure, the time-lines, all in an Informed Consent Form that you can take home with you. Before leaving the clinic, the doctor will have made sure to answer all your questions.

If you agree to participate, you may nevertheless withdraw from the study at any time, although for your own safety you should inform the physician of Algorithme Pharma.

Step 3: Participate in a study at one of our two clinics.

You will have to respect certain restrictions before a study, such as not eating grapefruit, drinking coffee or alcohol for 48 hours or so before showing up at the clinic; guidelines vary according to the project. You must follow these guidelines meticulously because the food and beverages that you should not consume may have a reaction with the medication and can distort the results.

During the study, testing usually consists of blood or urine sampling, and most of our studies require follow-up visits in order to study the long-term distribution of the medication in your body.
