Step 1: Registration

Register on the Internet by sending your application to participant@algopharm.com or dial 514-381-2546 (ALGO) or 1-888-758-6312 (toll free).

• Simply contact one of our agents, who will be happy to open a file for you and suggest available studies according to preset criteria.

Step 2: Medical Exam

• The purpose of this exam is to verify your health and confirm that your eligibility for the proposed study. A doctor will check your weight, height, medical history, urine and blood tests, electrocardiogram and drug test results. At that time, you will also receive specific information about the nature of the study, possible side effects, the procedure and the schedule. All of this information will be included on an Informed Consent Form that you can bring home with you. The medical staff will answer all your questions before you participate in the study.
• If you decide to participate in a study, you may withdraw at any time. You must however inform the Algorithme Pharma doctor for your own safety.
  

Step 3: Participate in a Study

• There are some important instructions to be followed before the study. Among others, this may include not eating grapefruit, drinking coffee or alcohol 48 hours before your arrival at the clinic. The instructions can vary according to the study.
• The length of stay will vary depending on the type of study. On average, two separate 24- to 48-hour visits to the clinic are required. Depending on study criteria, procedures involve taking medications and providing blood or urine samples.

Step 4: Follow-up visits  

• After your stay, short follow-up visits may be necessary depending on the type of study. You will then receive a final cheque to cover the balance of the financial compensation for the completed study.
